The Jesuit Fighting Crusaders continued their successful season with a dominating 74-45 home victory Wednesday night, January 18, over the Pearland Oilers. The win marked the eighteenth in season and put the Crusaders only one game away from completing a perfect sweep against the Oilers this season, an impressive feat.

Senior guard Trevor Lombard ’23 led the Crusaders against Pearland, adding an impressive eight three-pointers in the first half alone and finishing with 31 points in total. Though Lombard’s contributions to his team were invaluable, it was a team effort by Jesuit, as Lucas Hobin ’25 and Wesley Westbrooks ’24 found each other multiple times throughout the game to connect for multiple fast break points. The Crusaders’ high-scoring night can likely be attributed to the team’s willingness to share the rock, as nearly every player on the team finished with multiple assists.

Jesuit continued to display their brilliant shooting this game, including an above-average 38% from deep, ending all hope of a comeback for Pearland, who shot just 10% from the three-point line.
