Christmas Around the World Nourishes Stomachs and Hearts

Who doesn’t like food and who doesn’t like Christmas?

On December 5, Strake Jesuit hosted Christmas Around the World in the Parsley Center lobby during Community Time. Students who purchased a $5 ticket could help themselves to countless gourmet Christmas dishes and desserts from countries around the world.

The proceeds went to Lily’s Toy Box, a charity that  provides toys to children in need.

Some of the 20 national and regional cuisines present included those of Germany, Ethiopia, India, Italy, Mexico, Nigeria, China, Costa Rica, and Great Britain. There was even a Texas booth serving brisket. Each nation or region had its own decorated and themed booth with its iconic foods on display thanks to our gracious faculty and other volunteers. There was no better way to get our students into the Christmas spirit and showcase the importance at Strake Jesuit of diversity and of religious tradition.

Every attendee walked out with a smile and a full belly.
