For Ryan Disch, golf is a grand endeavor

As his final season of golf at Strake Jesuit approaches, Ryan Disch is looking to make the most of it, as he reflects on what his golf career owes to his role model for golf and more, his grandfather.

Ryan said that his grandfather, aka Grampsy, coaches him on everything related to golf and even caddied for him in a tournament this past summer. Ryan said he considers his grandfather his “most harsh critic, probably more dedicated to me getting better than I am.”

The number one golfer of the Strake Jesuit, Ryan has high expectations for this upcoming season.

“I plan on winning State this year as an individual,” he said. “I also plan on the team winning state this year as well.”

Strake Jesuit won districts last year and advanced to regionals.  How legitimate are state title hopes for this year’s team?

“We have a very legit shot at winning state this year since our team is so good,” Ryan said. “All of the guys in the program are studs, and even if they are not a part of the team that goes to state, they are willing to help out in other ways.”

This future looks bright for Ryan and the golf team.
