History was made this season for our Football team. No other previous team since our joining the UIL had made it as far as this years team into the championship playoffs, and what a ride it was.

After Jesuit came out strong against Aldine high school in the first game but then lost two heartbreakers to Rivals St. Thomas and Dallas Jesuit, the season looked bleak. Going up against Morton Ranch the crusaders stole a victory in the closing seconds in dramatic fashion with a 2 point conversion to win the game. After that the Crusaders rolled through their next three opponents beating Katy Taylor, Tompkins, and, for the first time in school history, beating powerhouse Seven Lakes, which gave the Crusaders their first playoff berth since 2008.

Unfortunately, Jesuit hit a two-game slide against Katy High School and Cinco Ranch but made a quick rebound beating Mayde Creek in the regular season closer.

Next when the crusaders took on Reagan High School in the first round of the UIL State Playoffs, the crusaders closed out the win in the final minutes of the game with a pick 6 by George Ikot.

Next the Crusaders gave a beating to Cy-Falls high school ending the game 44-23.  After the first half the Jesuit had jumped out to a 31-7 lead and coasted in the second half to take the victory, for the first time winning its way into the third round of the UIL stateplayoffs, a feat never before accomplished by any Strake Jesuit football team.

Unfortunately, the Crusaders lost to Manvel over the Thanksgiving Break at NRG arena. Still it was a historic season for Crusader Football. The team is most grateful for the vital support of the entire Strake Jesuit community.
