What a time to be alive. For the first time since 2009 our football team has earned a playoff berth. Even more impressive is that this is the first time that the team has clinched a spot in the 19-6A district or commonly referred to as the Katy District.

On Saturday, November 14th the fighting Crusaders took on Reagan High school in Delmar Stadium for a first-round playoff game. This season Jesuit’s high-powered offense has paved the way for some very exciting victories, but against Reagan it was all about the defense.

In the first half, the Crusaders scored two thrilling touchdowns. With about two minutes left in the first half, Zach Zubia, with some great protection from the offensive line, threw a bomb down the field to Christian Mcstravick (Boston College commit), who ran it in for the touchdown.

In the second half it was neck and neck for a majority of the time with the Crusaders holding a 14-13 advantage. But with three minutes to go in the fourth quarter, as the Bulldogs were marching down the field to win, George Ikott picked the ball off and ran it in from 16 yards out to seal the victory for the Crusaders.

This Friday, November 20th, the Crusaders will be taking on Cy Creek High School at home. This is for the Area Championship, a huge game for Jesuit. It would be the first ever area victory for the Crusaders since joining the UIL in 2003. So clear your schedule, show up, bring friends, and be loud at 7:00 p.m. at Crusader stadium.
